My Experience With The Pat Sin Leng Hike.
My experience tackling the Pat Sin Leng Ridge hike was an epic and challenging adventure. The true excitement began once we reached the Hok Tau Campsite. At the outset, the trail led us down a paved road, and we had a moment to catch our breaths at the Hok Tau Reservoir, a spot so picturesque that it allowed us to gather our thoughts before the demanding journey ahead.
We continued down the paved road until we reached the Hok Tau Family Walk archway. At this point, we diverged onto the Wilson’s Trail, following it for several hundred meters. Thankfully, numerous signs pointed the way to the Pat Sin Leng Ridge, making the path relatively straightforward once we passed through the arch, as depicted below. However, beneath this seemingly simple exterior, the hike concealed a formidable challenge—a journey that extended well beyond the 8-hour mark.
Despite the overall net descent, a significant climb remains due to the ridge’s undulation, even after the main viewpoint. As we reached the top of each set of stairs and conquered small hills, we were faced with a new set of stairs, making this section of the trail quite challenging.
